Event Details

On Saturday, June 2nd, join us to ride with the thru-riders on the Cabot Community tour from Miami to Maine! A map and cue sheets for the ride are available at: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/78565956/

You can ride from a few miles to 48 miles with the cyclists - we have several meeting points during the day, and a bus available to return to the start in the afternoon.

The schedule and ride options for the day are:

For a 48-mile ride, join the through-riders from their starting point in Raleigh at the Raleigh City Center Marriott (500 Fayetteville Street) before 7am for a 7:00 departure.

For a 41-mile ride, you can meet us at the NC Museum of Art (2110 Blue Ridge Road in western Raleigh). Be there before 7:30am for a departure with the group ~7:35.

For a 32-mile ride, meet us at North Cary Park (1100 Norwell Boulevard, Cary) rest stop. Be there by 8:15am for a departure ~8:30.

For a 17.5-mile ride, meet us at our White Oak Church ATT trailhead (1305 White Oak Church Road, Apex) rest stop. Be there by 9:45am for a departure ~10am.

For a kid-friendly 4-mile ride, meet us at Durham’s Solite Park (4704 Fayetteville Road, Durham). Be there before 11am for a departure ~11:15am.

Cyclists will arrive at the 11-3pm Cabot Community Tour of the ECG Festival at American Tobacco Campus’ Diamond View Park off of Blackwell Street. A bus will be available for registered riders at 3pm (after a trail clean-up) back to Cary and Raleigh starting points for only $10 (in addition to ride registration fee).

The ride is free for East Coast Greenway members, $10 for non-members. New members can join the ECGA at a special $20 event rate and ride for free! You get a one year membership at half price!

On the almost complete Triangle East Coast Greenway segment, the route is 76% greenway (off-road, separated from car traffic). Most of the route is paved though some stretches are packed dirt (so most people can enjoy the ride on road or hybrid tires). Don’t expect to average high speeds, as we’ll need to respect walkers, runners, and other greenway users that Saturday morning. This is a group ride, not a race. Helmets required. It’s a rain or shine event. A big thank you to ride partners like the Triangle Commuter Bike Initiative of the DWM Foundation, Greenway Transit, and REI!

Please send questions to info@greenway.org with “Triangle ride” in the subject line. We look forward to seeing you June 2nd!
