International Justice Mission and Polaris Project invite you to save lives and make history. Join modern slavery abolitionists from around the state in advocating for the end of human trafficking to your California senator and asssembly member.
No experience is necessary--just your passion to use your voice for the voiceless and to take a stand for victims of sex and labor trafficking in California. We will schedule appointments in teams to avoid "solo" sessions, give you a speaking point sheet, and provide you with "leave-behind" information packets for your meeting.
Before advocacy day on August 15, we'll have 2 optional information & orientation sessions. One will be a phone-in conference call (which will be recorded and the link e-mailed out) a few days before and the next in Sacramento the evening before. If you can't participate in either of those, the briefing on August 15 at 9-10 a.m. before legislator meetings will give you all you need to know.
You'll advocate for current legislation that will help victims escape, survivors thrive, and traffickers face consequences. And you'll set the stage for greater strides in the march towards a state that is free of the evil of slavery while serving and restoring those who have been harmed by it.
To join us, please click on "Register" by July 30 and complete the next page's information, including your address, so we can determine your districts.
