by: LA (‘beyond yourself: Los Angeles’) is a grassroots effort that was started from a shared ideal of wanting to leave this world better than we found it – locally and globally. Innovation and globalization have resulted in numerous opportunities and have benefited millions but at the same time have left millions behind and accentuated the divide between the rich and the poor. Those left behind have unmet needs and tremendous opportunities exist to enhance the conditions of our communities through businesses that promote management and investment focused ‘beyond yourself’, social impact innovation, and cause-centric commerce.
by: LA is intended for a wide audience that is interested in learning about Social Impact innovation, investment, and management. Through the course of a day, speakers will discuss what they’re working on, convey their experience thus far, and inspire future leaders and ideas. Attendees will learn about the needs of local and global communities, the opportunities that exist to satisfy those needs, and the methodology required to develop sustainable businesses that can be focused on optimizing Social Impact.
The first 200 individuals that register and check-in will receive a $25 ONEHOPE gift card as well as gifts from our event partners.
If you'd like to volunteer your time, please sign-up and someone will reach out to you shortly.
by: LA Supporters will receive access to our VIP Tent and will be supporting local causes and non-profits.
*Note: This is a free event to the public but, if you want to support us and make sure that it happens again, please donate through Eventbrite by registering as a Social Impact 'by:LA' - Supporter (this event is valued at $100/person, or more...you decide).

Why 'beyond yourself', Social Impact, and Cause-Centric Commerce?
“We shape our world by leading ethically and responsibly. As stewards of our enterprises, we take the longer view in our decisions and actions. This often means putting larger interests above our own.”
- ‘Beyond Yourself’ – Defining Principle, Berkeley-Haas School of Business
“The world is struggling with 21st century challenges: poverty, economic decline, global climate change, an exploding population, and more. Enter “social innovation,” a way of thinking that draws upon the expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment of many sectors working together – nonprofit, private, government – with truly unexpected ways of doing business.”
- McKinsey on Society
“Building a cause into a business model and root culture is crucial…We need all businesses to build a higher purpose into their models so the most effective organizations in the world can impact humanity in a major way.”
- Jake Kloberdanz, CEO of ONEHOPE Wine
