There are plenty of events for engineers and designers that focus on things like product development and technology at startups, but there hasn't been much attention paid to the business side. So we're calling on business development and sales leaders to gather around and explore the art of business development at startups. Attendees will get real-world, tactical, actionable insight from the people who practice it.

Eric joined Foursquare in 2010 as Director of Business Development and is currently responsible for organizing and growing revenue. Before Foursquare, Eric was an analyst at Union Square Ventures and one of his side projects, Eat.ly, was acquired by Foodspotting.

Chris joined First Round in 2006 and is now a Managing Partner based in their New York office. Chris was VP of Business Development at social bookmarking and tagging company del.icio.us through the Yahoo! acquisition, and was VP of Business Development at Half.com, which was acquired by eBay.

Scott works on Digital Partnerships & Development for American Express. Previously, Scott was responsible for a $30MM sales distribution partnership pipeline at Dow Chemical. Scott writes about business development for Forbes has taught business development at Harvard, Wharton and other premier universities.

Wiley was CEO and Founder of SinglePlatform, which was recently sold to Constant Contact. He is now a Vice President at Constant Contact and General Manager of SinglePlatform, and he sits on the Constant Contact Executive team. Prior to SinglePlatform, Wiley was the Executive Vice President of Sales at SeamlessWeb and was on the Executive Team for 8 years.

Lauryn recently worked with NYT best-selling author Seth Godin and some of the largest brands in the world as the VP of Strategic Partnerships for Squidoo and The Domino Project, helping sell over a quarter million books and sponsorships. A noted writer and speaker, she’s spoken at TEDx, written in Fast Company, and was published in the best-selling book End Malaria.

Kenny runs business development for Single Platform, which was acquired by Constant Contact in 2012. Previously, Kenny held numerous positions in digital media companies such as Direct Brands and Lotame and advised several startups on how to grow through business, product, and audience development.
Business Development, General Assembly
Anand leads business development for General Assembly’s Enterprise Education unit, a group that works with large companies to build digital capabilities. Anand also serves on the faculty at GA, teaching classes on sales and business development for startups. Prior to General Assembly, Anand held business development positions at SCVNGR/LevelUp, and at The Ad Club.
