Event Details

Course Summary:  For our January meeting, we have two related topics: Business Ethics, and Dealing with Deceptive or Difficult Auditees.

Our first topic is Business Ethics.  Donna Davis, Director of Ethics and Business Conduct at Northrop Grumman, will discuss ethics in the workplace.  This topic will count for 4 CPE credit hours of behavioral ethics and thus will fulfill the periodic ethics requirement for Maryland CPAs.

Our second topic will be Dealing with Deceptive or Difficult Auditees.  This will be taught by Edward Stolle, CPA CFE CFCI CGFM, Manager of the Office of Quality Assurance at the Federal Housing Finance Agency.  This presentation promises to be quite exciting and unique!  This topic is divided into two subtopics, see below for details:

  • Techniques to Detect Deception on Interviews for Auditors and Investigators
  • Dealing with Difficult Circumstances on Audits and Investigations: Hostile and Shady Situations, Lack of Cooperation, and Peculiar Occurrences

Speakers:

  • Donna Davis, Director of Ethics and Business Conduct at Northrop Grumman
