BAR9 are something of a formidable force in the Dubstep scene. Ollie and Martin burst onto the scene in 2008, with early works such as ‘Midnight’ and ‘Untitled Symphony’ grabbing attention across the globe. Their unmistakably polished level of production was soon in high demand, as they delivered a series of remixes for the likes of Example, Nero, Foreign Beggars and Noisia to name a few. 2013 saw them sign to Never Say Die, first releasing ‘1983’ on the label’s compilation album in association with UKF. They then assembled a high-caliber collection in the form of their ‘The Lost Dubs’ EP – which gave fans the chance to get hold of some of the pair’s classic sounds, including the mammoth ‘Piano Tune VIP’. In December, BAR9 boldly moved forward with ‘Brave New World’; an EP of fresh material including a collaboration with Datsik that smashed the Beatport Dubstep charts.
A remix for Resistance just out and the brand new 'NEXUS-6' dropping 17th March, BAR9 are ready to continue dominating the bass scene in 2014 and no doubt have another thrilling year ahead.

Back in the Prohibition Era of San Francisco, 430 Mason Street was a space called the Cable Car Theater. Below the theater was a restaurant called Cafe Dans. In actuality, cafe Dans was not a restaurant, but a speakeasy that could be accessed only by a savvy few that would push a secret wall, leading you to a playground slide. This slide would take you below the street level where one could indulge in illicit gambling and the drinking of bootleg whiskey and spirits. In an era of secret codes and handshakes, the speakeasy was a hidden subculture of nightlife. Old world San Francisco elegance has been reborn. Slide is modern and sophisticated but is also reminiscent of the age of gangsters, flappers and bootleg revelry of years past.
