Building the Pillars of ALTA’s Best Practices – Workshop I (9:00 to 12:00): Lenders are asking settlement agents to provide copies of their Best Practices Policies and Procedures Manual. Is yours ready for distribution? If not, it’s time to attend Building the Pillars of ALTA’s Best Practices – Workshop I. The workshop is designed to give you a jump-start on the creation and documentation of your personalized Best Practices Policies and Procedures Manual. This three hour workshop reviews Pillar 1 - Licensing; Pillar 6 - Professional Liability Insurance; and Pillar 7 - Resolving Consumer Complaints. The workshop details Florida specific requirements for each of the three pillars. An example is reviewed and then time for drafting your own individual policies, procedures, and logs with internal checks is allotted. This seminar has been approved for 3.5 general CLE credits and 3.5 ethics credit with the Florida Bar; 3.5 hours of continuing education with NALA; and 2 hours of ethics and 1 hour of title credits with DFS.
Building the Pillars of ALTA’s Best Practices – Workshop II (1:00 to 4:00): This workshop continues the Fund’s examination of ALTA’s Best Practices, detailing Florida-specific requirements for Pillar 2 - Escrow / Trust Accounting; Pillar 4 - Recording & Pricing Procedures; and Pillar 5 - Title Policy Procedures. As with Workshop I, this course reviews examples of Best Practices procedures and allots time in class for beginning to draft your own organization’s policies, procedures, and logs. Workshops I and II may be taken in any order, and neither is a prerequisite for the other. This seminar has been approved for 3.5 general CLE credits and 3.5 ethics credit with the Florida Bar; 3.5 hours of continuing education with NALA; and 1 hour of ethics and 2 hours of title credit with DFS.
