Becky Stewart, Creative Director, Codasign
Tuesday, May 15th from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
The open source platform Processing has become a popular and powerful tool for creating interactive, media-rich applications. Originally created as a tool for artists and designers, it has a simple interface that can quickly produce interactive programs with very few lines of code.
This class will introduce how to use Processing to develop interactive programs that not only run on a computer, but on Android phones. All material will be made available online for students to refer to after the class completes.
By the end of this class students will have created a simple game that runs on the Android platform. Extensive programming experience is not required, but students that have done a small amount of programming in a language like C or Java will find it easier to follow the material.
Becky Stewart is a creative director of Codasign, an arts technology studio and consultancy. Before completing her PhD in audio signal processing with the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary, University of London, she completed the MSc in music technology at the University of York and the BMus in music engineering technology and computer science at the University of Miami.
