- To develop a community map to strengthen our whole community through expanded opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in activities as they choose.
- To broaden the concept of inclusion beyond the focus on individuals with disabilities as a mean to make Kalamazoo a community where all people belong.
Featuring John McKnight, co-author of: The Abundant Community: Awakening the Power of Families and Neighborhoods and co-director of the Asset-Based Community Development Institute. John McKnight is a well-known community organizer and has worked for many years on issues of social service delivery systems, health policy, the inclusion of marginalized people and institutionalized racism.
