Corporate Culture: Building Performance with Purpose
"We are what we repeatedly do" - Aristotle
At this workshop, there will be no definitive description to corporate culture. It's as ambiguous as it is necessary for a thriving business, but it has many familiar elements depending on how one participates in it:
- Social guidance and reinforcement
- Consistent awareness between employees and management
- The story of "why?"
- The company's unspoken code of communication
- A shared set of expectations
- A universal convention that facilitates coordination
This list can go on ad infinitum, but the varying perspectives inform the cultural view from the top (managers) and from the bottom (employees). What kind of culture are you in? Is it effective? What are you looking for in an ideal working environment? Maybe most important of all, how does a company define the culture it needs and inspire their employees to take part?
At this month's Think-n-Drink, we're going to hear from a panel with experience in building a successful team, managing change, and understanding how it affects the product or customer. It's an all-skate for anyone interested in the topic. No management or business experience is necessary for good converstation and a few glasses of wine.
