Contractors, developers and building community stakeholders doing business in Chula Vista are invited to a free workshop on sustainable building. Hear how energy and climate change policy at the national, state and local levels may influence your future building projects. Learn about Chula Vista’s new Sustainable Communities Program, which offers training and resources to help you meet and exceed energy efficiency and green building standards.
Speaker: Beth Brummitt, CEA, CEM, LEED AP, Principal of Brummitt Energy Associates
Beth has over 25 years’ experience in energy efficiency and building modeling, and has been training and speaking on the Title 24 energy codes since 1992 and on green building since 2001. Beth is a graduate of Stanford University and former Chair of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants. Beth was also the founding President of the San Diego Chapter Green Building Council and currently co-Chairs the SD Living Building Collaborative. She helped SDG&E develop the first Zero Net Energy Case Study for commercial buildings, and focuses on strategic energy planning to guide clients through the energy performance planning process.

City of Chula Vista Sustainable Communities Program
The Sustainable Communities Program provides resources to stakeholders of the Chula Vista built environment to improve compliance with energy efficiency and green building codes and to promote construction of sustainable buildings. This initiative is part of the City of Chula Vista’s Local Government Partnership program, which is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by San Diego Gas & Electric under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
