A charity event. 100% of ticket sales are being donated to support Chicago Northside College Preparatory High School's Robotics Team's competition in the FIRST Robotics Challenge.
All "evil" masterminds need a robot army to help protect their aquarium of laser-equipped sharks and to babysit their little toddler clones. In this intense hands-on session, students from Northside's Robotics team will teach you, yes you, how to build and program your very own robot. They will bring in some robots, give some demos, and talk about how the robots are built and programmed. Bring your laptop and expect to do some coding. It will be awesome.
Attendance at this event is strictly limited to 8 people. The students will be bringing robotic kits for everyone to play with. No experience with robots is necessary, but you should have some programming experience.
As noted, all proceeds from this event go to support Northside's Robotics team in a national competition. It's a worthy cause and it will be a lot of fun.
This event is being organized and hosted by David Beazley at his Andersonville programming lair. Snacks will be provided. If you would like to pay by check instead of credit card, or if you need to itemize your contribution for tax purposes, contact Dave directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
