Would you like to access flexible working opportunities, and the training you need to grow your career? If so, why not join us for a careers evening brought to you by BSN and the Government Legal Service (GLS).
About the GLS Careers Evening
The GLS delivers legal advice and services to a huge range of government organisations. This careers event is aimed at lawyers who would like to know more about working for the Government, a short talk from Mel Nebhrajani, the Legal Director at the Department of Health, an overview of our recruitment process, and the opportunity to chat informally to existing lawyers about their work.
What we can offer you
We can offer you a varied career at the heart of government, whether you are interested in legislation, litigation or advisory work – or all of these at different times during your career. With the support of your colleagues and with access to high-quality training, you will acquire the skills and receive the development opportunities you need to progress. The GLS runs regular recruitment exercises, advertised on our website. We also offer a competitive salary and a pension, and a generous holiday entitlement, with opportunities for part-time and flexible working.
More information on working for the GLS can be found here.
Please note that this event is not aimed at individuals seeking training contracts.

Black Solicitors Network
The Black Solicitors' Network (BSN) was formed in 1995 to promote the interests of black solicitors, for support and sharing information, to participate in consultations, initiated by the Law Society and other Government bodies, in relation to matters which affect black solicitors.
The BSN was recognised as a Law Society Group on the 17th July 2003.
A not-for-profit company, the Black Solicitors' Network aims to be the primary voice of black solicitors in England and Wales.
The BSN is committed to achieving equality of access, retention and promotion of black solicitors within the sector.
Over the years membership had grown to over 5,500 by 2007 and now stands at well over 7000. An inclusive rather than exclusive organisation, our reputation is such that we also attract, and welcome, members from across the cultural and diversity spectrum.
