Stan Kenton was one of the world's most beloved band leaders. With hits like "Peanut Vendor," "Intermission Riff" and "Stompin' at The Savoy" to other fan favorites such as "Artistry in Rhythm" & "Opus in Chartreuse" all arranged by some of the best composers/arrangers, (Pete Rugolo, Johnny Richads, Bill Holman, Hank Levy, Shorty Rogers, Dee Barton, Gerry Mulligan) Kenton's timeless music is loved and respected all over the world. Join the BJO as they perform a wide range of music representing the entire history of the Kenton band.

Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra

The Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra (BJO) is a large jazz ensemble firmly rooted in the jazz tradition while also keeping an eye toward the future of creative music. The band’s repertoire includes music from Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Thad Jones, Gerry Mulligan, and many others. The BJO also commissions new music and arrangements from today’s leading composers. Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra concertgoers can expect a fantastic performance of exciting music.
