Event Details

With all of the requests that I get from people wanting to see the bees and experience a honey harvest I've decided to give a little bike tour of some of the hives I am working with in Brooklyn. We will start in Carroll Gardens with Eco Brooklyn (www.ecobrooklyn.com)to pull a few frames and then we'll move onto Crown Heights to check some hives belonging to BK Farmyards (www.bkfarmyards.com) and end in Greenpoint where we will harvest honey from Eagle St. Rooftop Farm (www.rooftopfarms.org) and my personal hives. We'll then sit down to enjoy a lunch in the park provided by the Brooklyn Standard Deli (http://brooklynstandarddeli.com/). After, we will proceed to cut and package the comb honey. WE WILL NOT BE USING A CENTRIFUGE ON THIS TOUR.

Lunch will be provided and you will leave with a portion of honey that was harvested that day.

Veils will be provided, but please wear a brimmed hat and bring a light colored windbreaker or oxford shirt just in case. You will be asked to sign a waiver in the case that you are stung or otherwise injured. Please consider that this is a possibility and if you are ok with the idea of a sting or two (or most likely none...) then by all means get in touch.

The cost of the tour is $50 (Cost of tour, lunch and drinks, honey to take home)There is only room for 10 people on this tour, so first come first served!
