BRONCO SERVICE DAY
Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM (PDT)
Help Feed the Children!
Feed The Children is a Christian, international, nonprofit relief organization with headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.
Feed the Children's regional distribution center needs help with preparing boxes of supplies that are shipped out to children and families in need. Volunteers are needed to help prepare food boxes, personal care hygiene boxes, as well as sort and prep products.
Are there requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
This opportunity is open to Cal Poly Pomona students, staff, and faculty. All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Informed Consent Agreement prior to attending the event. These are available in the Center for Community Engagement, Building 1, Room 108. Students under the age of 18 must have guardian consent.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Volunteers must be responsible for their own transportation to the warehouse location. Students may choose to carpool, or find alternate means of transportation, however, due to liability issues, the Center for Community Engagement can not help arrange this.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Anything participants bring is at their own risk. Dress appropriately for warehouse work. Close-toed shoes, and clothes that can get dirty is recommended. There will be water and snacks provided, as well as everything needed to complete the task. A Bronco Volunteer T-shirt will be provided.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Contact Megan in the Center for Community Engagement: 909-869-3129, firstname.lastname@example.org, or by visiting her office in building 1, room 108.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No. If you can no longer attend the event, you must cancel with the Center for Community Engagement no later than Thursday, September 24, 2013. There are a limited number of spots for this volunteer opportunity--and at the same time, FEED THE CHILDREN is expecting that number of volunteers to be there. Please be responsible and be where you committed to being, or cancelling in a timely manner so your spot can be filled.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. However, you do need to complete the Informed Consent Agreement before volunteering.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No. Each participant MUST register him or herself.
