 Artist Bio's

Big Krit

It is rare to find an artist who has both age and wisdom on his side. At just 24 years-old, Big K.R.I.T. possesses the musical intuition of an old soul. Hailing from Meridian, Mississippi, K.R.I.T. (born Justin Scott) grew up listening to early rhythm and blues records in his Grandmother’s house and later went on to discover songs by revered soul artists like Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch and Bobby Womack. It’s easy to detect these artists and rap legends who have influenced the young MC like 8Ball & MJG, UGK, Scarface and OutKast in K.R.I.T.’s own music which masterfully resurrects the rich heritage of Southern hip-hop in the 1990’s.

An American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, music engineer, mixer, and fashion designer from Detroit, Michigan. His debut album, Priscilla was released in 2012 was written and produced by himself and is of the R&B genre as opposed to pop-rock and electropop of his previous projects. Recently announced he and the TDE signed rapper Ab-Soul would be releasing a collaborative project together called Unit 6. JMSN was featured on The Game's "Jesus Piece" Album, on a song called Pray with JCole.

Jesse Tittsworth’s one‐of‐a‐kind approach to life and music has been influencing the world of dance music for over a decade. Breaking out as a local favorite in 2004, DJ Tittsworth drew musical inspiration from his hometown of Washington, D.C. to create his own unique take on Club music. He helped opened a premiere home for dance music in America as co‐owner of U Street Music Hall in his hometown. Tittsworth is currently touring and in the studio working on new material featuring Q‐Tip, Laidback Luke, and Theophilus London.

Va$htie (Host)

Visionary Director, Brand Owner/Designer, Party Producer, and Creative Force. This is Vashtie Kola, or as she is often called "Downtown's Sweetheart”. With a friendly demeanor and uncanny ability in bridging the gap between underground cool and industry mainstream. Va$htie has worked with as creative director of Def Jam, and co branding with Nike and Billionare Boys Club. Ironically, she’s the first female that has ever created her own sneaker with Nike Air. Visually, she directed videos for Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Joey BadA$$, Solange, and Kid Cudi.

Rock Creek Social Club (Host & Music Coordinators)

Rock Creek Social Club (RCSC) is a collective that unites the best of DC's diverse fashion, music, art and design communities, by regularly hosting the freshest lifestyle events in the city. Our allegiance of unique and talented individuals taps the constantly evolving pulse of urban culture in all endeavors, and brings a mix of the District's past, present, and future to every party, space and place we create. Members include Uncle Scooty, Jerome Baker iii, and Spincer Tracy.

Dale and The ZDubs

A fresh rock reggae groove is flowing out of DC and its name is Dale and the ZDubs! With songs about relationships, dreams, failures, and people that have inspired or slept with them, DZD has a little something for everyone. The band has been causing a stir with their high energy live shows featuring hip-hop collaborations, multi-part vocal harmonies, and abominably radical solos from guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and harmonica. Their debut full-length album, "Leave the Drama," on comes out April 1.

Black Alley

Born and bred in the District of Columbia, BLACK ALLEY has pushed the rhythmic limits of DC’s music scene for 5 years now. By standing on the shoulders of tradition, Black Alley embodies the best of jazz, funk, rock, r&b, and hip-hop to form its own musical niche called “Soul Garage.” By forging our own unique path, BLACK ALLEY seeks to create a space where people and music vibe on a higher level.

A Washington D.C. based funk, soul, dance, and rock band that have me nodding my head to the beat in response to their new single “Harlot”. Instead of going in the direction of over layering tracks for effect the song’s simplicity is part of what makes it so innocent and enjoyable to listen to. The band is named after their singer Misun Wojcik whose ability of stretch her voice to fit into multiple genres is worth noting.

Locke Kaushal

Lyricist, musician, songwriter. Locke Kaushal is already on his way to hip-hop stardom. Deriving his stage name from the Hindi term “Kaushal” meaning skillful and pairing it with that of his government name; the Virginia bred emcee depicts visual paintings crafted by witty lyrics inspired by life. This past October, Locke was featured as an up and coming artist on MTV’s RapFix Live hosted by Sway.
