Broadway Wishes: NYC

Children have dreams. Some wish to be a firefighter, some wish to be a baseball player, and some have a broadway wish that we want to see come true. Broadway Wishes: NYC supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation and annually sponsors a child with a Broadway-related wish. Be it to see a Broadway show or to be in one, we reach out to help children with diseases, disabilities and terminally diagnosed medical issues live a dream on the "Great White Way."

Broadway Wishes was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by cancer survivor Lauren Buben. Diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of three, Lauren decided she needed to give back to her childhood community, the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together with forty of her friends, Lauren raised over $10,000 to fund six year old Hannah’s wish to be an ensemble member in Broadway’s Annie.

Inspired by Lauren and my experience with her in Philadelphia, We were intrigued by the opportunities New York City had to offer Broadway Wishes. Founding Broadway Wishes N.Y.C. was the next step to helping another child’s dream become a reality. As a part of the New York University community and in union with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, our organization will hold a spectacular cabaret in honor of a Manhattan child.
