Bringing the Equity Commission to America's Classrooms: A Webinar for Educators
Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
How are we thinking about equity in education - and even more important, how are we taking action through our practice and our policies to create it in our schools? A 27-member national Commission released a report earlier this year focusing on five areas including high quality early childhood education, addressing poverty’s effects with broad–based supports for children and families, engaging teaching and learning to connect schools to a dynamic world outside of schools, and democratic and effective school governance models. These issues all are tied together by a clear need for educators who can translate this broad agenda into one that will have a personal impact on students. In our May 22 webinar, teacher leaders will discuss how the Commission’s findings might help support local efforts to promote educational equity and success in classrooms, schools and communities.
