Event Details

Northern Kane County Wild Ones will bring Doug Tallamy,  author of “Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens,” to the Kimball Street Theater  in the Rider Center at Elgin Academy, 350 Park St, Elgin, IL 60120 on October 21 at 7 pm for a free lecture.

Tallamy, who serves as chair of the Department of Entomology at the University of Delaware, will present a message about how suburban gardeners have the opportunity to protect biodiversity, and why a simple change in the way we look at our yards can make a crucial difference to wildlife.

Seating is limited and reservations are required by Oct 19. The overflow crowd will watch the program on closed-circuit TV. After the program, you can enjoy refreshments and meet Dr. Tallamy at our reception. He will be signing copies of his book, which will be available for purchase. Please arrive early to allow plenty of time for parking.
