Join us for a citizen science project as part of FrogWatch USA, a nationwide program sponsored by the Assocation of Zoos and Aquariums. IslandWood has been participating in FrogWatch USA since 2006 and has just established a monitoring site at Brightwater. Participants will learn about native frogs, their calls and habits in an engaging Power Point presentation and then go out in the field at dusk to record their observations and collect data at Otter Pond and in our wetlands.
The evening will conclude with a short night hike in small groups around the Brightwater Natural Area. Sunset is at 7:45pm.
· Please note the evening time and for this special community event.
· Dress in layers for cool spring weather
· Great for all ages!
The mission of IslandWood is to provide exceptional learning experiences and to inspire lifelong environmental and community stewardship.
