The Bridgetown Doubleheader
Bridgetown Bonspiel 1.0
Register now for the first open bonspiel ever at Evergreen Curling Club's new dedicated curling facility, the first dedicated curling rink in the State of Oregon. Opened in December 2012, Evergreen's 3-sheets are now ready for you and your team. Relax post-game with beer or wine from the Broken Stone Pub, sit at ECC's genuine hand-crafted old-growth Douglas Fir beerhall tables, and watch the curling action on an array of flat screen TVs.
Bridgetown 1.0 will be open format, welcoming teams with any combination of men, women, young, old, able-bodied or wheelchair curlers. This bonspiel is part of a "doubleheader" consisting of two open bonspiels on consecutive weekends in March (Bridgetown 2.0 begins on March 22nd). We decided to schedule our first bonspiel as a "doubleheader" to give more teams a chance to play and to accommodate as many schedule conflicts as possible. Enter either or both of the bonspiels to take advantage of the opportunity to play at this new facility!
We will coordinate the spiel with a traditional ABC bracket so that you are guaranteed at least three games during the weekend. We will accept only 18 teams into Bridgetown 1.0.
Earliest draw time on Friday will be 6pm.
In addition to curling we will offer a catered banquet on Saturday evening (March 16th). You can purchase extra banquet tickets for $15 each. We will also run other fun side-games.
Hotel Accommodations provided by the Shilo Inn Beaverton. Mention that you are with Evergreen Curling Club to receive a $69 rate on Shilo's executive wing rooms. Parking is free at the Shilo Inn. We also recommend rooms at the nearby Courtyard Marriott Beaverton and Embassy Suites at Washington Square.
Bring your friends and family for sales-tax-free shopping, winery tours, or sightseeing trips to the mountains or ocean. Visitors always have fun when they visit Portland.
