Everything you wanted to know about SQL Server’s Resource Governor will be discussed from when to use it and how to apply it. We will cover what is available in SQL Server 2008 R2 and what’s new for the resource governor in SQL Server 2012. Specifically we will cover creating workloads and monitoring through the use of extensive demos for memory and cpu within resource governor.
Brian Mitchell is a MCM - SQL 2008 and an SSAS Maestro. In his current position at Microsoft, he is a Senior Premier Field Engineer dedicated to the support of SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse. Brian has extensive experience creating and delivering advanced training for the full range of the Microsoft BI stack. Specifically, he has great passion for Analysis Services and Reporting Services. Additionally, Brian has spent countless hours onsite at customers delivering proactive services on the whole stack of SQL Server products. Brian has previously contributed at TechED, PASS, and SQLRally.
Food and drinks will be provided. As usual there will be SWAG at the end of the meeting.
Our meetings are free and open to the public. The doors open at 6:00 pm and food arrives shortly after that allowing time to grab something to eat and networking with your peers. The meeting will start at 6:30 with announcements and open floor discussions followed by the speaker for the night.

These are two user groups interested in sharing information about Microsoft SQL Server and related topics.
The Pinellas User group meets at the Juvenile Welfare Board at 6:30pm on the third Tuesday of every month except December. The address is 14155 58th Street North, Clearwater, FL 33760.
