Brett Martin Presents: Plowshares 1st Annual Homegrown Hoedown...Rain or Shine
Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (PDT)
Rain or Shine!
We have a beautiful indoor space here at Frey Vineyards where all of the days festivities will be taking place until the sun decides to shine down.
The Homegrown Hoedown is an event that has been organized to raise money for Plowshares as well as promote local artists and musicians.
Plowshares (plowsharesfeeds.org) is a nonprofit organization that has been providing free hot meals and other services to the hungry and homeless since 1983 in Ukiah, California. Ukiah is located about 2 hours north of San Francisco on U.S. Highway 101. Plowshares relies almost entirely on local donations and the invaluable help of dedicated volunteers to run the dining room, homeless services and meals-on-wheels programs with very little government funding.
Working together wih the Frey Vineyards, Ukiah Brewing Company and Mendocino Brewing Company local musicians have come together to give back to their community. Musical entertainment will be provided by Antioquia, The Voodoo Medicine Show, Dirt Floor Band, The Frey Family Band, Free People and Mara Montiel.
Seasonal organic food will be provided by Tamara Frey Catering and will be available to purchase at the event. There will also be a silent auction taking place during the event, auctioning artwork by local artists!
