Event Details

Breaking the Mold in East Texas 2014 is a seminar for employers to gain knowledge for the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. Several years ago, the East Texas Center for Independent Living, Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, and Workforce Solutions East Texas formed a partnership to organize a yearly seminar to educate employers about the benefits and importance of hiring people with disabilities. Six years later, this annual event has evolved into a major East Texas event called Breaking the Mold.

Presenters from across the Lone Star State come to speak to large and small businesses about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities, and how to have support systems that can help accommodate their valued employees.

Since its beginning, businesses have benefited from this annual event by gaining valuable information and insight toward enhancing their recruitment processes and further developing training programs, which had resulted in more successful hiring practices and a higher quality workforce that is rich in diversity and inclusive of people with disabilities.

This event is free, however registration is required, as a complimentary continental breakfast will be provided.

Businesses and organizations that serve people with disabilities will be on hand to offer helpful information to employers.
