New in town and having trouble meeting people?
Lived here your whole life but want to make new friends?
Did you grow up here, leave, and just move back?
Come break the bubble with us.
What is Break the Bubble, you ask?
We host events to help you make new friends. All you have to do is show up and we'll do the rest.
What makes Break The Bubble different?
It's a way for Minnesotans to meet new people and make new friends! For one, it's at a brewery. People tend to open up a little after a few beers. For two, there will be a theme. Something to get people talking. Everyone had a great time at our first three events, so we're going to run future events in a similar fashion.
What's the format?
- Show up
- Slap on a name tag
- Introduce yourself to someone new
(Try to avoid talking only with people you already know. Mix things up; that’s the point!)
What's the theme?
The theme this month is Either/Or. On your name tag, you'll put an open-ended either/or combination. Kind of like a "would you rather" prompt.
- Alligators or scorpions?
- 1 month in Europe or 10 minutes on the moon
- Flying or mind reading?
Why a Wednesday?
We're trying something new this time. The first three BtB events were all on Friday, so we're hoping this will open it up to even more people.
But I'm an introverted nerdy tech guy who is most comfortable as a wall flower and has problems striking up interesting conversations with strangers. Is this event still for me?
Yes, definitely! Everybody's there to talk to people they don't know. Which means everybody feels a little awkward.
I met someone...now what?
When you're talking with someone you'd like to hang out with again, get their contact info and make a plan to do something! It's as easy as that. Also, it doesn't have to be romantical. Man-dates are OK!
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope! Just your awesome self.
What if I get hungry?
There will be a food truck, plus you can bring food into the bar. How cool is that?
Help us help you be awesome!
We realize it's only two weeks away, so we also need your help in spreading the word. Invite your friends, tweet about us, blog about us, post on facebook, or something else. Capacity is limited, so we ask that you only RSVP if you're really going to attend. Just because it's a free event doesn't mean you can RSVP and not show up. Don't be a Facebook "Maybe” (creeper). Other people want your spot!
One last question, where can I go for more information?
If you have any questions, comments, or would like to volunteer, please let us know by clicking on the big "Contact the Organizer" button on the right menu.
