The first thing you should know about Wheelie is that they love you. Times are hard, days are long and the news is often bleak. It can be particularly hard in the button-down culture of Wheelie’s hometown, Washington, DC. Wheelie knows this and they are here to give you relief. The second thing you should know is that Wheelie is fun. Wheelie has a sound that incorporates such far ranging influences as Brian Wilson, Wilco and even African percussionist Mamady Keta. While their music fits right alongside bands like the Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend, Wheelie’s whole-hearted hedonistic approach ultimately sets them apart from their contemporaries.
Have a listen.
Wheelie is the creation of Cleveland native, Michael Jantz Moon and seventh generation Washingtonian, Eduardo Santana. Together, they spent over two and a half years creating the sound, the aesthetic, and the stage show before they played their first gig. This project is the culmination of years of their dedication.
