Branding & Promotion For Singers
Who wants to be the next Adele, Pavarotti, Rihanna, Cher, Aretha, or Usher? If you are a professional singer or aspire to be one, hopefully not you.
There's an old song that says there are "too many Porter singers and not enough Porter songs." Unfortunately, a lot of singers, fearful that they will limit their ability to get gigs or even break into the business turn themselves into generic, carbon copies of popular performers. They become just another Porter singer. Fact is, the unique, the different, the stand out get the gigs, not the generic.
Branding for singers is an essential part of career development. But how do you develop a brand? How do you decide what your brand should be and what happens if you choose the wrong brand? Once you have a brand, how do you use it to promote you to success?

When & Where
Hi, My name is Alexandrea Merrell and I am the founder of Orndee Omnimedia. Orndee Omnimedia is a public relations and brand management firm here in NYC, specializing in “unique” personalities, particularly in entertainment, politics, in the arts, and authors and small publishing houses.
We decided to launch Success School, of which this class is a part, simply because so many people who wanted to be published authors or who were already self publishing, or who wanted to break into entertainment or politics, contacted us about helping to launch their career. Many of these people however didn’t have the financial resources to hire a full service firm and were frankly not far enough along for a public relations firm to be a really effective expenditure, even if they did have the financial means to do so.
Over and over, what we found was that people had great concepts, great stories, great points of view, great voices, or great presence, but they didn’t understand the industry and so they were getting frustrated and either quitting or were falling victim to scams OR were using their limited budgets in all the wrong ways and not getting a good return on their investment, not getting themselves, or their art or books out to the public in an effective way and simply not getting the publicity that they expected.
Now you might wonder why a PR firm is telling you how to get your foot in the door and handle your own branding and publicity. If you understand how the industry works, you can make more effective choices. And when you make those effective choices and become financially successful, you can hire a firm like Orndee Omnimedia to expand your brand through television appearances, speaking events, radio, print media, openings, film and television adaptations, product launches, etc and that is my motivation.
We are passionate about unique, provocative people; I am excited about changes in technology that allow more and more people to share their information, their vision, their talents, and their imagination. I know that by sharing this information with you, you can start building success. And when you do that, when you reach the level where you need help in promotion on a national and international level, I believe that you will come back to Orndee.
