Hi, My name is Alexandrea Merrell and I am the founder of Orndee Omnimedia. Orndee Omnimedia is a public relations and brand management firm here in NYC, specializing in “unique” personalities, particularly in entertainment, politics, in the arts, and authors and small publishing houses.
We decided to launch Success School, of which this class is a part, simply because so many people who wanted to be published authors or who were already self publishing, or who wanted to break into entertainment or politics, contacted us about helping to launch their career. Many of these people however didn’t have the financial resources to hire a full service firm and were frankly not far enough along for a public relations firm to be a really effective expenditure, even if they did have the financial means to do so.
Over and over, what we found was that people had great concepts, great stories, great points of view, great voices, or great presence, but they didn’t understand the industry and so they were getting frustrated and either quitting or were falling victim to scams OR were using their limited budgets in all the wrong ways and not getting a good return on their investment, not getting themselves, or their art or books out to the public in an effective way and simply not getting the publicity that they expected.
Now you might wonder why a PR firm is telling you how to get your foot in the door and handle your own branding and publicity. If you understand how the industry works, you can make more effective choices.
