May Topic: Innovation, featuring East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar C. Moore, III, as he discusses the innovations in crime fighting through the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination (BRAVE) project
In 2012, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) was awarded a $1.5 million grant to institute the BRAVE project. BRAVE takes an innovative approach to fighting crime by focusing on the 70805, where a majority of the crime in the parish occurs, and proactively addresses some of the sources of crime. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the innovative techniques being used and get an update on how the program is working to date.
BRAC's monthly investor luncheon is a great new way for investors and the business community to stay informed about the work of the organization, meet fellow investors, and learn about relevant topics including economic development, business strategy, technology, and innovation. The event will be held on the first Tuesday of each month (unless noted).
Special thanks to Kean Miller for providing the event space
