"Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities:  Dr. Manette and the Prisoner at Eastern State Penitentiary." Just in time for Bastille Day Dr. Sandra Sokowski of Rutgers University will discuss Charles Dickens's tour of Eastern State Penitentiary during his 1842 visit to America and the influence that visit had on his writing of A Tale of Two Cities. This event will take place in the Elkins Room of the Rare Book Department, 3rd floor of Parkway Central Library.
