The Other Side of the Mobile App Economy
with Jeff Seibert (Crashlytics), Ilya Sukhar (Parse), and Brett van Zuiden (Ink)

What if you could go from idea to App Store in less than a week? What if the companies primarily responsible for all of your favorite apps were companies you’ve never heard of? What if Facebook, Twitter, and Google were making moves in the mobile market not to acquire apps, but to acquire the services that make apps happen?

Crashlytics, Parse, and Ink (formerly Filepicker.io) have rapidly gone from fresh, relatively anonymous startups to household names among app developers — and in the case of Crashlytics and Parse, hot targets for big acquisitions. Join us and startup founders Jeff Seibert (Crashlytics), Brett van Zuiden (Ink), and Ilya Sukhar (Parse) as we pick their brains about the mobile app market's seedy underbelly (we hear it's pretty rough-and-tumble), what it means to provide a service for developers who provide a service, why they decided to do this instead of developing apps for consumers, and more.

Food and drinks will be provided.
In addition to street parking, parking will also be available at our underground garage.

Ilya Sukhar, Founder & CEO, Parse
Parse is a cloud app platform that allows developers to add a scalable and powerful backend in minutes and launch a full-featured mobile or web app extremely quickly without ever worrying about server management. Ilya Sukhar co-founded Parse in 2011, and loves creating products people love to use. Prior to founding Parse, he was an early engineer at Ooyala and Etacts. Parse was acquired by Facebook in April 2013.

Jeff Seibert, Founder & CEO, Crashlytics & Director of Engineering, Twitter
Crashlytics makes it easy to figure out the what and why so you can find a how to fix it faster than ever with powerful, lightweight crash reporting for iOS and Android. Jeff Seibert was CEO of Crashlytics until January of this year, when Crashlytics was acquired by Twitter. Prior to Crashlytics, Jeff founded Increo, which was acquired in 2009 by Box.

Brett van Zuiden, Founder & CEO, Ink (formerly Filepicker.io)
Ink helps Web, iOS, and Android developers connect and access their user’s photos, documents, and videos from both the local device and cloud services like Box, Facebook, Gmail, Dropbox, Google Drive, Github, and 14 others. Brett van Zuiden founded Ink in 2012 and hopes "to allow users to live and work entirely online” and believes “mobile devices are an integral part of that vision.”
