12PM-1PM": "Unity in the Arts"
This weekend is an honoring of what is and what's to come for Hip-Hop with two powerful Bronx arts organizations: Andrew Freedman Home and Bronx Museum, on an arena that is promised to boom as a premiere art promenade in the Bronx in years to come. Hear the thoughts and visions of leaders in the NYC arts community (Walter Puryear of Andrew Freedman Home, Sergio Bessa of Bronx Museum of the Arts, Yvonne Chow of H+ | The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory and more) and share what you would like to see for Hip-Hop on this boulevard!
Build community through refreshments and dialogue following the H+ | Salon.
When & Where
H+ | The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory
Each year, H+ | The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory begins the first installation of their Spring Season paying homage to the birthplace of Hip-Hop, the Bronx. Last year, H+ presented a successful 3-tiered program with No Longer Empty at Andrew Freedman Home entitled “Dance Here. Hip-Hop.” This year, they present a spectacular day in appreciation of Bronx Week (May 9-19, 2013) entitled “Boulevard of Dreams: Hip-Hop, Strength, and Unity Along the Grand Concourse” in conjunction with Bronx Museum of the Arts and Andrew Freedman Home.
Let’s use the ingredients of peace, love, unity, and having fun to cultivate a sustainable and unyielding strength in the Bronx arts community for Hip-Hop!
