Come and learn how to overhaul your bottom bracket. We'll review several types of bottom bracket and how to get inside, clean it, grease it, and reassemble it. Initially the instructor will demonstrate on selected bottom brackets, and afterward students who would like to bring their bicycle or specific bottom bracket challenge with them will have the opportunity to try and stump the instructor and/or share it with the group.
Students will leave this workshop with a demystified idea of what's in their bottom bracket and the proper tools and techniques for getting in there.
Students should have a basic knowledge of bicycle maintenance to benefit from this workshop. Students must be at least 18 years of age.
What to Bring:
Students may bring their bike if they'd like to.
“Seven” as she’s commonly known, has learned her bicycle maintenance skills through a combination of Broadway Bicycle School training, and spending inordinate amounts of time around SCUL headquarters (a positive bicycle chopper gang). Seven maintains a small fleet of “normal” bicycles, has built and maintained her own modified bicycles, and she likes to read bicycle repair manuals for kicks. Seven enjoys maintenance best when her SCUL comrades get together and ask her two or three “how do I…” questions at once. She’s also keen on hot yoga, meditation, making electronics go, and treasures playtime with friends.
