Event Details

The 3rd Annual Boston JerkFest™ is Boston's hottest summer festival and only Caribbean foodie event. This out-door/in-door, family-friendly, festival features Jamaican jerk hot spiced BBQ food, and due to the popularity of the festival last year, we expanded it to a 2-day event! The event will take place in the South End at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, 41 Berkeley Street in Boston. Boston JerkFest Food Festival
Saturday, June 27th, 2015, 11am - 8pm

The jerk BBQ food festival continues on Saturday, June, 27, 2015 with two sessions: 11am-3pm and 4-8pm and offers: top local Caribbean Chefs offering authentic jerk-spiced foods and traditional Caribbean home-made beverages for sale. Live music featuring reggae and steel pans will fill the air with the sweet sounds of the Caribbean.The Seafood Throwdown and Jerk Cook-off competitions return to bring excitement to the festivities. The Spice Lane promotes hot and spicy specialty foods such as hot sauces, jams, and desserts to heat up your tongue. An expanded Kids Zone this year will have hands-on interactive arts & crafts and other activities. Arts & crafts vendors will round up our offerings. Tickets are $20 advance for adults and $5 for children 5-12 years old. Children under 5 years old are free to attend the Saturday sessions. Food is not included with your admission. Food will be for sale for $7 or less per serving by our vendors.

Rum & Brew Tasting @ Boston JerkFest
Friday, June 26th, 2015, 6pm-9:30pm

Boston Jerkfest features a special “Rum & Brew” Tasting for 21+ attendees. The 3rd Annual Rum & Brew Tasting @ Boston JerkFest will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 6-9:30pm and offers unlimited tastings of local and international spirits, cocktails, craft beer, mead, hard cider, and wine. The Rum & Brew Tasting will include Cocktail Demos featuring vendors who will stir up the best “Irie” drinks made from products featured at the Rum & Brew Tasting. We’ve also introduced the Caribbean Cocktail Throwdown where Boston’s best Caribbean Cocktail will be concocted. General admission tickets: $50 and VIP Tickets are $100. Food will be for sale for $7 or less per serving by selected food vendors.

Boston JerkFest FAQs

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No. tickets are non-transferrable from one session to another, but you can change the name on the ticket.

Can I update my registration information?
Yes. For more information, but cannot transfer between sessions. Please check: goo.gl/ROVrP

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
We encourage you to download the APP from eventbrite and go paperless! The Boston Jerkfest Crew will be scanning the QR code on your ticket, a PDF file on your phone also works.

What is the refund policy?
All tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer to friends through eventbrite account, but cannot transfer a ticket from one session to another. For more information, please check: goo.gl/ROVrP

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Boston JerkFest food festival on Saturday, June 27, 2015 is a family friendly event and we encourage that you bring your kids to have fun at the festival. There will be Kids Corner at the event with fun activities. However, the Rum & Brew Tasting event on Friday, July 26, 2015 is a 21+ event with I.D. checked at the entrance.

Where do I check in at the event?
The event is hosted at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, 41 Berkeley St, Boston in the South End. Check-in entrance for advance ticket holders for the Saturday event is on Berkeley Street at the corner of Tremont Street. Check in for day of ticket holders is on Appleton Street, which is the other side of the venue, directly across the street from 478 Tremont St.

For Rum & Brew, the check in is 41 Berkeley Street

Is food included with my ticket?
Food is NOT included with your general admission ticket. There will be vendors on both Friday night and Saturday day events. Food will be available for sale at reasonable prices for both days. we will also have spicy snack samples from our various sponsors and spice lane vendors. There will be more food vendor options on Saturday sessions. VIP tickets include one meal ticket to be redeemed at any vendor on Friday night.


What do I get with my General Admission ticket for the Friday night Rum & Brew Tasting event ?
This event is for 21+ year old attendees only and you get the following included with your admission ticket:

  • Beverage Sampling: Unlimited samplings of rum, other spirits, craft beer, mead, hard cider, wine and artisan beverages.
  • 2015 Caribbean Cocktail Throwdown: Featuring Boston’s best Mixologist competing for bragging rights and winner of the Boston’s best Caribbean cocktail.

  • The Saturday festival offers two sessions: 11am-3pm and 4-8pm.Boston JerkFest will feature

  • Live music featuring reggae and steel pans will fill the air with the sweet sounds of the Caribbean.
  • Music offered indoors and outdoor.
  • The Seafood Throwdown and Jerk Cook-off competitions return to bring excitement to the festivities. 
  • The Spice Lane promotes and sells hot and spicy specialty foods such as hot sauces, jams, and desserts to heat up your tongue. 
  • An expanded Kids Zone this year will have hands-on interactive arts & crafts and other activities. 
  • Arts & crafts vendors will have caribbean themed products for sale.

Is the Rum & Brew no longer on Saturday?
Correct. Due to the popularity of the event, we moved the Rum & Brew Tasting to Friday night. There is only one session and two types of tickets: general admission and VIP admission. The VIP ticket holder gets entrance ½ hour earlier than general admission.

On Saturday, alcoholic beverages will be for sale at our “Jerk Bars” indoors for 21+ festival goers, feature Caribbean themed cocktails, craft beer, hard cider, mead and other drinks


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
By the T: You can reach us via the Orange Line at the Back Bay Station or the Greenline at the Arlington & Coply stops.
By Local Bus: Please take #43 (Direction: Ruggles Station via Tremont St.) and get off at Tremont St @ Berkeley St. stop. Head south on Tremont St towards Berkeley St. and turn right onto Berkeley St., the destination will be on your right.
