Bonding Again: 2nd Time Moms Support Group
- Meet a group of other moms of 2+ in your area
- Talk, listen, laugh, bond
Mommybites Boston is proud to offer Boston-area moms support groups launched in NYC in 2008!
In our Bonding Again group, each week you will have the chance to spend quality time with only your new bundle! You’ll share experiences, engage in parenting discussions, gather valuable resources, and ask your parenting questions on order to make this time of major transition smoother, saner, easier and more enjoyable!
After these warm, informative, and friendly sessions, you’ll be fully connected to a great group of other trusted moms of 2+ and feel empowered with (and reminded of) essential newborn skills. Most importantly though, this class will help you adjust to the joys and challenges of being a mom of an older child and a new baby. Topics of discussion can include: how to deal with jealousy, getting out of the house, bedtime, mealtimes & guilt.
Mommybites' support groups are led by facilitators who will guide you to embrace your new role & identity as a mom with more confidence, compassion and humor.
-When: 6 Fridays 8/1 - 9/5
-Where: Dance Place, Arlington
Led by Katherin Hudkins, former Isis Instructor and Founder of Seedlings: Katherin has been studying childbirth since her first year at Smith College, where she received her BA in Anthropology with a focus in the Anthropology of Reproduction. Katherin has over a decade of extensive childcare experience, worked as a birth doula in Ecuador and Massachusetts, and spent a summer as a traditional midwife’s apprentice in Guatemala. Her passion for emotional support of expecting and new parents brought her to Isis Parenting in June of 2010, where she worked as an assistant center manager and a staff trainer. Her natural gift with moms and babies drew her into the field of postpartum support as a doula and Isis facilitator of new moms groups. Her teaching style is warm, upbeat, and positive, and informed by her cross-cultural and evolutionary studies of childbirth and parenting.
What if I have to miss a session?
Life happens (especially as a new mom!) Do what you can to make it each week, but know that the program is valuable even if you have to miss some sessions. We don't prorate our support groups for missed sessions as it's really about getting 6 weeks of support & resources (vs 6 sessions). One of the best parts? Developing friendships with so many supportive moms.
What Mommybites Moms are Saying:
Becoming a new mom was the most exhilarating, exhausting, and intense journey I'd ever experienced. What I found I needed most was a sense of community, which is what this group offers. Meeting up, learning from, and laughing with other new mothers helps turn an uncertain and potentially scary time into a shared adventure...
The New Mom's Support Group for babies is a fun and easy way to bond with other moms. The focus is really on the mom, which is so unique in the vast universe of mommy and me classes in NYC...
I enjoyed taking part in the support group. It is great to be with moms and their little ones born around the same time as my daughter. We shared and learned a lot from each other, but the best thing is that we made friends!
