Event Details

Former Gawker editor Emily Gould moderates an Internet Week panel with Brooklyn Based, The Local, FIPS, Design Blahg, Jauntsetter and VendrTV on the realities of building your own successful blog/site from the ground up.

Ask us all your burning questions (the good, the bad and the ugly!), and help us choose the best ones to answer during the panel here. You can pose questions to the group, specific panelists, or even to bloggers we've invited to sit in the audience. Include your Twitter handle if you've got one. We'll also be taking questions via Twitter during the panel. Our hashtag will be #bloghard, so use that in your tweet to get our attention.

An hour of networking, with coffee and bagels, will follow the panel presentation.

**PLEASE NOTE: You will need your ID to gain entry to CUNY, so please bring one along!

Emily is the former editor of Gawker.com and author of the recently published And The Heart Says Whatever. She also blogs on her site Emily Magazine.

Brooklyn Based is a local email newsletter run by Nicole Davis, Annaliese Griffin and Chrysanthe Tenentes. Griffin is also the Collaborative Editor for The Local, a hyperlocal blog run by CUNY and the New York Times, and Tenentes is also the Community Manager at Foursquare.

Erica Reitman launched her Park Slope neighborhood blog, Effed in Park Slope 2 years ago, and shockingly, she hasn't been run out of the area...yet. Her newest blog, Design Blahg, is a humorous, snarky foray into the (mostly) not humorous or snarky world of design. She is also the Marketing Director at Squarespace.

Dorothy McGivney worked for almost six years at Google until a serious case of wanderlust sent her on a trip around the world. After spending the better part of a year visiting destinations like Patagonia, Nepal, and Japan, she decided to combine her background in online advertising with her passion for exploring to create Jauntsetter, a travel site and e-newsletter for New Yorkers.

Daniel Delaney is the host, creator, and producer of VendrTV, a weekly web video series and blog all about the nation's best street food. Dan and his crew have eaten their way from Maine to Malibu, filming over ninety delicious episodes.
