We invite you to join St. Louis' own Bourbon & Banter for a Blind Bourbon Tasting & Dinner on May 11, 2013 hosted at the historic Glen Echo Country Club. The evening will consist of six (6) bourbon tastings, a gourmet buffet, dessert and bourbon-themed giveaways.
Whether you are new to bourbon or a longtime fan, Bourbon & Banter's blind tasting approach is the perfect way to experience the wonders of America's native spirit.
The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with bourbon cocktails in the Bourbon Lounge – a venue within Glen Echo created especially for our event. The tasting will begin at 6:15 pm.
Guests will have the chance to taste a total of six (6) different bourbons in a blind tasting setting. In other words, we remove the labels, and your taste buds decide what you really like.
Patrick Garrett, Bourbon & Banter's founder, and Joe Head, General Manager of the Century Bar, will spend some time talking about bourbon’s history and how it’s made, along with notes for each bourbon as they lead you through the tasting process.
Halfway through the tasting, you’ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind buffet carefully crafted to compliment the event’s featured bourbons. You’ll have the opportunity spend some time comparing tasting notes with your fellow guests before the tasting resumes, and the final three bourbons are sampled.
Over an amazing bourbon-themed dessert, Patrick and Joe will unveil the bourbons used in the tasting and provide additional background information on each one while answering any questions from attendees.
And since this is a Bourbon & Banter event, there's sure to be some surprise giveaways as well!
After the tasting is completed, you're invited you to stick around and enjoy a drink in the Bourbon Lounge and continue the evening’s enjoyment of bourbon and banter.
