The Boston Landmarks Commission (BLC) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2015. The BLC has planned a series of four seasonal programs celebrating Boston's historic places and the progress made during the past four decades to protect and enhance the city's unique identity.
The final BLC XL event, titled "Thanks for Mutton: the Archaeology of Food and Drink at the Colonial Tavern," will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, during Massachusetts Archaeology Month. Join City Archaeologist Joe Bagley at The Tap Trailhouse as he explores the dining of Boston's past through the artifacts excavated at the Three Cranes Tavern (1635-1775) in Boston. Period food and drink will be available for purchase at the modern-day tavern location, located in the Landmark Blackstone Block.
As space is limited, registration is required.
