Southern Gurl Productions is proud to present a documentary that offers a behind-the- scenes view of contemporary, self-published, African-American writers’ as they navigate life from self-publishing to film.
The MYEC is a 55,000 square foot facility with 16 lanes bowling center, 154 seats movie theater, a skating arena, the new state of the art video arcade (PINBALLZ), two food courts and special event spaces. MYEC is the only event center in Austin with all these activities and event spaces under one roof.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
None. This is a documentary film and does not have any bad language. Feel free to bring the family.

Writer/Director C. Mikki
C.Mikki was born and raised in Shreveport, LA, where she knew as a young child exactly what she wanted to do when she grew up. Be a Writer and a Director. In 2010, C. Mikki released her first novel, "Men and Sex - Power, Pleasure, Pain." She has written for various online magazines, providing sex and relationship advice that is thought provoking and realistic. After 12 years of a career in recruiting, C.Mikki now devotes her life to realizing her dream. "If you really want to do it, you will find the time. Time is never an excuse." C. Mikki is currently working on her debut documentary film, "Black and Write." A film that will explore the challenges of black authors and the publishing business. She resides in Texas with her husband and two sons.
