Celebrate Black History Month this Sunday, February 24, at 10 a.m. at East County Shared Ministry, 200 E. Leland Rd (between Railroad & Harbor), Pittsburg. Musician Michael Miller brings a fresh approach to the traditional hymn. His upbeat style and rhythm draw from many genres including his work with the Lucy Kinchen Chorale whose mission is to preserve and perform the Negro Spiritual as well as a variety of other repertoires. Miller is Director of Parents of Children of African Descent (PCAD), a non-profit parent advocacy group supporting Berkeley Unified School District students and their families, a position he has held since 2002.

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, everyone is welcome here, East County’s progressive, inclusive place of worship.
