We know Black Girls RUN!, but are you fit? UnitedHealthcare, a national partner of Black Girls RUN!, is proud to collaborate with Black Girls RUN! to bring you Black Girls RUN! Fitness Intervention Team (F.I.T.), a series of running clinics designed to provide relevant information on topics such as nutrition, hydration, running technique and injury prevention.
Black Girls RUN! and UnitedHealthcare will be touring across the U.S. to host two-hour long clinics. Not only will attendees feel empowered to begin or continue in their journey to healthy living, but each clinic will culminate with a fun-filled cross-training activity such as Zumba, African dance, belly dancing, yoga, kickboxing and more! Instructor: Joyell Hayes
Joyell Hayes is an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified
group fitness instructor and health and wellness coach. Her love for fitness began with a background in cheer and dance. Joyell is also a certified Kickboxing, Insanity and P90X instructor, in addition to being a Black Girls Run Houston participant. She understands the importance of maintaining optimal strength, along with sound cardiovascular health, and strives to incorporate both into every class. Joyell’s goal is to make every participant feel welcomed while encouraging them to work to their personal max. She stresses the importance of mental state over the physical being, while teaching students to identify and celebrate every victory. She leads with her passion for people, discovering a healthier and happier self, and concentrates on helping the client find the Joy in the Journey.
