Shaping, Adapting, & Growing

Early Childhood Conference 2013

A One Day Conference to help you shape the tried and true with a twist of the new...

As we build quality programs, we're constantly challenged to improve time-honored routines, habits, and preschool traditions.  Innovation begins when we shape the tried and true with a twist of the new. As we adapt and grow, we advance our programs and keep them cutting edge.  With three tracks of training for your teachers and managers, you'll find topics that mix the best of tradition with current research and best practices to help you keep your program fresh and original.

Three Tracts with 8 different workshops. . .new, and expereinced teachers and center managers will all find new twists to build innovation in 2013.

Featured Workshop:

Balancing Demands: Tips for Keeping your Children and Yourself Stress-Proof in a Changing World.

Shaping , adapting, and growing create innovation and improvement. But the change they create often brings with it tension, conflict, and anxiety. Learn the warning signs of stress in yourself, and the children in your classroom. Learn to recognize the difference between good tension that produces growth, and toxic tension that creates stress and destroys growth. You'll come away with techniques for quickly untwisting the situations that cause conflict, and with new steps to create healthy habits during changing times.

Traditions with a Twist:

Shaping, Adapting, and Growing

Course Descriptions

Tract One: Guidance

Shaping & Adapting: Understanding and Changing Misbehaviors in Today’s Child Are behaviors in 2013 different than in the past decade? Will the strategies of the past work with the children of today? What misbehavior is trending in your classroom?    This workshop helps you understand the “why” behind misbehavior, and explore strategies that work with the children of today.    Return to the classroom empowered with guidance techniques with a positive twist to shape your little one’s behaviors.

Featured Tract!

Tract Two: Faith Based

Creating Bible Circles That Captivate Children  Building practical lessons from scripture that make circle time meaningful and fun for children can be a challenge. Like it or not, teachers compete with toys, other children, television, and video attractions for their preschooler’s attention. Spice up your mornings and group times with activities that engage and excite your little ones. Learn the “dos and don’ts” of developmentally appropriate bible circle times and come away with new songs and finger plays to jazz up your program.

Train Up a Child: Using Biblical Principles to Create a Classroom that promotes Cooperative Behavior More often than not, the solution for creating cooperation can be found in examples from scripture. Does your classroom support or hinder caring behavior? Learn how to increase cooperation in children by creating an accepting, nurturing environment that teaches children how to live for a lifetime, not just how to act in the moment.

Identify your BEST customers, and find strategies for attracting more JUST like them.

Customer Service that Keeps them Coming!
Attracting customers is just the beginning of a good marketing and enrollment plan. Good customer service, that goes beyond words and jumps into action daily, impresses clients and builds loyalty. Evaluate your program’s client friendliness and come away with a plan for getting your whole staff on the “retention team” for your center.
