Montrose Point, Chicago
Open to adults and children (8 years and up)
Open your eyes to the wonderful world of birds with JRC's own Judy Pollock, Director of Bird Conservation for the Audubon Chicago Region. Dig out your binoculars (or borrow a pair) and join us for a guided bird walk at Montrose Point, Chicago! If you’ve never been on a guided bird walk, this is a do-not-miss opportunity. Montrose is ideal for spotting birds, as the shoreline extends farthest into Lake Michigan at this point. New and experienced birders alike will learn to identify common birds, migrant songbirds and possibly shorebirds on the beach and in the park. Extra binoculars will be provided to share.
Meet at the fenced-in bird sanctuary found where Montrose Drive begins to curve around the harbor, opposite from the harbor. Montrose Drive is accessed by heading east from Lake Shore drive and making a right turn at the end of the harbor.
Please sign up early as the walk will be limited to 15 people.
