Note: This workshop occurs on three consecutive evenings, September 24, 25, and 26. Attendance at all three sessions is required.
Get your hands wet and boost your hand skills in this mini bookbinding intensive class. In 3 evening sessions, students will have the special opportunity to work with fine bookbinding leather and assemble a model of the Simplified Binding. Discover the joy of working with leather as we create a relief pattern in leather for the front cover of this book. Students will also practice sewing, cutting, and pasting techniques.
Prerequisite: COCO 11 OR two Book Arts Workshop CORE Bindery classes OR approval from the instructor.

When & Where
Book Arts Workshop
The Book Arts Program at Dartmouth College consists of a Letterpress Studio and Bindery Studio. It is open to all levels of experience; instruction on using the printing presses and in binding books is given. There is no fee to use the studios or to attend workshops but participants are expected to follow posted guidelines for cleaning up after themselves and putting away type. Failure to do so may result in studio privileges being revoked. The studios are open Fall, Winter, and Spring term. See our website for more information.
