5-6:30 - Inaugural meeting of the big Big BIG Idea Squad - the Fashion Show's new steering committee. (For committee members only, see below.)
6:30-8pm - Potluck and party - Range of Light and friends on the main stage, bring a dish for the potluck (see below)
8-8:45ish - Wrap meeting - gifts, appreciations and feedback - tell us what worked and and your ideas for improvements next year
8:45 - Video screening of the show on the big screen
STEERING COMMITTEE - AKA THE BIG BIG BIG IDEA SQUAD:
We are excited to create the first steering committee for the Fashion Show this year - a loose governing body for this continually growing beast of a show we've got. The BBBIS will help us creatively solve new challenges and make decisions for the future, including themes, financials, personnel and more. All who join the committee agree to a one year commitment: attending four meetings a year and serving in a leadership capacity (20+ volunteer hours) at the next show.
To join, you must have either:
- designed in at least two shows and have attended at least two show meetings before,
- served in a leadership or assistant production role at least once and attended at least two show meetings.
If you'd like to join the BBBIS, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your interest and please attend the meeting at Henry Miller on Friday before the party at 5pm. Please note, we need to limit this committee to 12 members. If there is more interest, priority will be given based on experience.
POTLUCK & PARTY
The potluck and party are open to all! We have small gifts to give to this year's designers, and Tommy McDonald and friends of Range of Light Wilderness will play a music set while we dance, eat and make merry.
For the potluck:
First names A-G - bring a main dish
First names H-R - bring a salad or side
First names S-Z - bring dessert
Non-alcoholic drinks and wine will be provided. Please bring your own cups, dishes and utensils to conserve resources.
We have a few short announcements and we will announce the theme for 2015! Then you'll have your chance to share your feedback about this year: please bring your appreciations and suggestions for improvements.
We have the footage from the jumbotron and will watch the entire show, beginning to end! Bring blankets and layers to get comfy and bring your friends who missed the show.
A request: Lynette Tolentino is working hard to produce a documentary about Big Sur and the Fashion Show and she has volunteered to help edit our show footage (we have footage from three different camera vantage points), but she needs a new, expensive editing program, Final Cut Pro to complete her work. If anyone has a copy of the software (for Mac), resources to purchase the software at a discount or is willing to donate toward this effort, please contact her directly asap: email@example.com.
