Prohibition era/Speakeasy in the tradition of the Great Gatsby.
The purpose of the annual gala is to enable the Louisiana Museum Foundation to provide major support for the programs of the Louisiana State Museum, and to promote the Museum's facilities, exhibits and collects.
The Old U.S. Mint was a federal prison at the end of the prohibition era. These jails have not been on display but the night of the event gala attendees will get to view them through the windows along with other artifacts such as a Bonnie & Clyde poster, a Tommy gun and a rum runner's boat.
