What is "Big Data"?  How does it affect Columbia and society?

Join Columbia Engineering and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for a special presentation on the intersection of big data and autism research.

Professor Peter Bearman, Jonathan R. Cole Professor of Sociology at Columbia, will present his findings on how big data can help unlock the underlying trends in the occurrence of autism in California. The evening will also feature an introduction by Kathy McKeown, Henry and Gertrude Rothschild Professor and Director of the Institute for Data Sciences & Engineering, who will speak about the exciting new Center and its impact on Columbia and society.

After the program, enjoy a reception with beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres.

All Columbia alumni, parents, and students are invited to attend.  Online registration is required.  Due to building security at Google, we will be unable to accept walk-ins at this event.
