Join Slow Food DC for a reception and silent auction to raise funds to support Bread for the City’s mission and Slow Food DC’s Snail of Approval program, along with other Slow Food DC educational programs.

 

Bid your winter blues away at our silent auction while enjoying catering from DC Central Kitchen's Fresh Start Catering and complimentary wine tasting. Auction items include wine tastings at Barrel Oak Winery and Cobbler Mountain Cellars, a gift basket from White House Meats, a pasta making class at Seasonal Pantry, a whole hog BBQ from Friends & Food International, along with many more wonderful food-related items and activities. DJ Neo Retro will be the DJ, so don't pass up this opportunity!

 

Bread for the City's mission is to provide vulnerable residents of Washington, DC, with comprehensive services, including food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. They have been most generous in providing Slow Food DC with space to hold our monthly board meetings and this is a chance for us to give back.

Slow Food DC

The Slow Food DC (SFDC) chapter is a community that promotes and celebrates local, seasonal, and sustainable food sources; works to preserve the culinary traditions of the region’s ethnically and culturally diverse populations; and supports the right of all people to enjoy good, clean, fair food.

SFDC represents the national capitol area, including Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland. Members come from a wide variety of professions and backgrounds. We organize dinners, tastings, tours, lectures, and community outreach events providing SFDC members an opportunity to explore the richness of our region’s culinary heritage in addition to the diverse array of food and drink from around the world represented in our foodshed. It is our goal to connect our eaters with the biodiverse and sustainable food producers, as well as increase public awareness of slow eating.
