Bicycle Friendly Community Workshop - Annapolis, MD
Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Bike Maryland and the City of Annapolis wish to invite you to a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) Workshop to be held on July 11th from noon to 3pm at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center. This is a free event and we encourage anyone interested in helping make their community more bicycle friendly to attend. Each year the League of American Bicyclists awards communities across the country that have made significant strides in becoming a more bicycle friendly place to live. This past year Annapolis was recognized by the League with an honorable mention, and a bronze level BFC award is just around the corner! We hope that the BFC Workshop will help to put into motion some of the opportunities for improvement in Annapolis, thus helping the community to achieve bronze level BFC status in 2013.
The workshop will include an informational session covering the BFC program and the Five Es (Engineering, Encouragement, Enforcement, Education, and Evaluation), speakers from current BFCs in Maryland, a presentation from the Annapolis bike/ped planner (Iain Banks), as well as group brainstorming. The brainstorming session is a time for attendees to identify issues, set priorities, and organize an action plan for making their community more bicycle friendly. A more detailed workshop agenda is soon to follow.
Please direct any questions to Bike Maryland's Bicycle Friendly Maryland Program Coordinator, Anna Kelso. You can reach Anna either by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by cell at 814-883-8775.
Hope to see you there!
